Open House Project #1

My Spring Idea Book Open House is in less than a week! I spent a good chunk of the weekend getting the projects I am offering ready to go. No surprise that this one is my favorite, since it uses Emporium papers!! This cute little tin is actually sold as a gift card holder, but I immediately saw potential for more...........

I turned it into a presentation container for some chocolates and a cute little card. The great thing about this project is that it is pretty enough to give to your best girlfriend, yet masculine enough to give to the guy in your life. And the design is general enough to give for any occasion! I am charging $3 to make this at my Open House.

supplies:
Emporium Level 2 paper pack
Emporium Creative Basics paper
Priceless Love stamp set
So Girly stamp set
Clear sparkles

size: approximately 3" x 4 1/2"

other: the divider is made of scored & folded cardstock

The Cute Things Kids Say

Emily told me the sweetest thing on the way home the other night. We were listening to the radio and they were talking about the couples on The Biggest Loser. We watch the show here and there, but I didn't realize Emily knew what the show was all about. Apparently she does....she said to me, "Mommy, you and Daddy can't go on The Biggest Loser because I'm not old enough to take care of myself. And you're not big enough to go on that show anyway. Only fat people go on that show and you're not fat!"

Awwwww, that was so sweet! Mel and I have both been working on losing weight and getting in shape, so that was a great ego boost!

Love you baby girl!!

Bring on the Bling!!!

I am loving the bling lately....................This is a card I made for a "Quality Swap" with some of my Close to My Heart sister consultants. I was really happy with the way it turned out. It uses one the new paper packs from the Spring 2009 Idea Book and the upcoming March Stamp of the month. Like many stamp sets (and it seems especially the SOTMs), this was one I didn't really like at first, but now that I've played with it, it is definitely one that will remain in my stash.

supplies:
That's Amore paper pack
March SOTM--Butterfly Wings
Clear Sparkles
Blush Designer Ribbon

colors:
tulip
blush
chocolate
vanilla cream

size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

In fact, I liked the way this card turned out so much, that I decided to "bling it up" a bit and enter it into a contest. I definitely like this version even more with the added bling!! (and I sure hope I win!!!)

additional supplies:
Pretty Pins
Chocolate & Colonial White Ribbon Rounds
Prisma Glitter (added to butterfly bodies and 2 corners of sentiment block)

NOTE: I even "blinged up" the Pretty Pin by covering the flower with Liquid Glass, adding a sparkle to the middle and dipping it in Prisma Glitter. I really like the way it adds extra sparkle!

What happens when you have a snow & ice storm and your computer crashes in the middle of it?

And it's less than 2 weeks until Christmas????

No blogging for almost a month!!!! But I'm back now..........yay! No snow or ice and a computer that runs much better--I am a happy camper!!

Here are some pictures of our "fun" weather in December:

Our backyard--notice the ice glazed branches in the foreground! And this was in the middle of it all. We got even more snow than this!!!

Emily absolutely LOVED the snow. She went out in it every chance she could. Luckily, I had found a cute snowsuit& mittens that matched the new coat I had gotten her for Christmas. Needless to say, she got these gifts early!

And here is our next-door neighbor's car. Unbelievable!! We got even more snow after this!!! This will definitely be a winter to remember!!!
